The biggest ski race outside of the Winter Olympics is being hosted in my back yard in just under a month. I am excited! The 2017 Audi FIS World Cup Finals in Aspen is going to be a phenomenal event to cover. I’m privileged to have the chance to showcase the races and these amazing athletes to the world. I just got final confirmation of my press pass today, so I’m already in position to shoot this one-of-a-kind event.
I’ve been skiing Aspen Mountain (known to locals as Ajax) for more than 35 years, and know all the ins and outs of this course. Aspen is recognized worldwide as a skiing destination and the very first FIS championships outside of Europe were held here in 1950, when our ski area was only four years old with a single chairlift! Aspen has grown up since then for sure, and the whole town is gearing up for this as the sporting event of the season.
If you’re getting ready for campaigns around the 2018 Winter Olympics, now is the perfect time to get the still images of Alpine races that you need, and where better to get them than in sunny Aspen, Colorado! I’m available for specific shoots, or can send you a variety of images from the event to choose from. Call me today at 970-948-1003 or email mike@mikelyonsphotography.com to talk about how I can help you be ready with amazing ski photography!
