Jenny and I went in search of the “World’s Best Banana Bread,” and we found it on the north side of Maui. When you search for the world’s best, you might have to look far and wide, or you may find it very close to home. To get to the airport on our final day on Maui, we took the longer, scenic route to the airport. This is usually the best way to go, slow enough to take in special sights and with the open attitude of “Who knows what we’re going to find?” Little did we know that along our journey, we would get to try some great banana bread. The route is curvy, often rainy, and the views are spectacular!
Along the way, we came to a little village that most tourists pass by:
Be careful to spot the signs pointing you to a comfortable shack near the road where you will find Julie. She is there to offer you a very tasty treat. If you arrive at the right time, you might just get to taste the world’s best banana bread fresh out of the oven. We were lucky enough to get there at such a time; the bread was so good that we agreed it is truly the world’s best. It is nice to find that even in small villages on Maui one can find a big, warm, aloha smile and some of the tastiest treats. If you are in Maui, I recommend finding the bright green shack with the amazing banana bread. The small back roads do offer world class treats!
