So every four years we get an extra day in February. It is a great day to reflect back to see where you are today compared to the last time you sat on the 29th day in February. Today I will share a few random thoughts that I have. Yes most of my thoughts are random but it is getting late and how often can you post to a blog on the 29th?
Characters, not just another pretty plan face that is quickly and easily forgotten. So I went and got the web domain: CharactersOfAspen.com I hope to find and photograph them and tell a bit of their story. Maybe I should go to the Woody Creek Tavern and see if there are any left there?
My next camera on order. In High School I worked at the Walnut House Fils. I lusted after the Nikon F4. I remember knowing and understanding that its weather sealing was key. The motor drive was fast, in short it was a tough camera that would withstand abuse and use for many years. I still regret not buying that camera. I still kind of look through CraigsList to see if I can find a good used F4. Yea I buy it now. On order is the Nikon D4. I am going to wear that shutter mechanism out, just a couple of hundred thousand clicks. I just hope the photographs I make at the end of its shutter life are as better then the first.
It was cool to look through some of my old slides and negatives. I could waist a few days looking at them. I actually had some good stuff, I am my own worst critic. I do need to get over that and share my “snapshots” more. I call them snapshots but I am sure others may actually call them “nice” or photographs.
I am realizing we are wired to look at each other and humans look at other humans. There are more of us on earth then ever before so I should have more things to put in front of my lens. I should have lots of photographs to show and share but, I do not, YET
