I recently had the pleasure of working with Greg Rulon and Stacy Kelly to photograph their listing on Forest Lane in Snowmass Village, Colorado. This is a 5 bedroom 6 and a half bath house with ski-in ski-out access. The house has four thousand eight hundred square feet of living space, and is currently listed for $8.95 Million. It is an amazing house, with endless views and a tremendously warm, open feel, inviting the outdoors inside. One could be captivated just sitting in the living room with the exposed steel beams and watching the sun set or rise through the floor-to-ceiling windows. If I lived here, I would sit here often, gazing out these windows at the horizon and creating some stunning piece of art or dreaming of ways to change the world.
The peace of the living room also extends to the kitchen, with views that would distract me from cooking. The kitchen would make most chefs envious, and the appliances here are top of the line. Creating a culinary dish here would be a delight, as this is one kitchen that is not tucked into a corner of the house away from everyone, but is part of the experience of living here.
Just outside the kitchen is a covered deck with a built-in fireplace and grill. Outdoor dining during the summer months would be a mandatory part of living here. You would have a full chef’s kitchen just inside the door, and all the warmth of a fire and grill right at your fingertips.
The master bedroom is on the same level as the main living spaces, which helps create a cozier feel to the expansive house. Just down the stairs, which themselves are a not-to-be-missed detail, is the media room with the attached wine cellar. Kicking back and relaxing watching TV or a movie here with such a great view of your wine collection would be all the excuse to open a bottle of wine with your loved one or family.
Just outside media room is a wonderful spot to soak in the spa or relax on the deck. The built-in outdoor fireplace is a perfect spot to cook up ‘smores or continue to sip your wine. The bedrooms are comfortable and have some of the same views as the living room.
It was quite the experience to translate the beauty of this house into photographs that put you into the house from anywhere in the world. Working with Greg and Stacy was a great experience; they have extensive knowledge of the best spots in Snowmass Village. Their expertise, coupled with this great house translated into a dream photoshoot in a dreamy house.
